SINGAPORE : What would happen if there were no engineers?
Singapore's first National Engineers Day poses this question in the hope that more will become curious about the profession.
Talking robots and rolling roadsters are among the exhibits on show at *SCAPE along Orchard Link till September 7 to drive public interest in engineering.
Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Teo Chee Hean launched the exhibits on Saturday and urged engineers to think out of the box.
"The technology is there, but you need to understand the societal context and your market needs, in order to design the right kinds of products to suit the market. These are the kinds of things which engineers do," said Mr Teo. - CNA /ls
