SINGAPORE: Police have arrested four boys aged between 8 and 14 years suspected of being involved in a snatch theft case that took place in Ang Mo Kio housing estate last Wednesday.

That afternoon, a 51-year-old woman was in the lift with a group of four boys when one of them snatched her purse containing her mobile phone, cash and some personal items, police said. All the boys fled together.

Officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division responded swiftly and conducted on-scene investigations. They managed to get hold of CCTV images of the four suspects.

On Saturday evening, the officers spotted a boy fitting the description of one of the suspects in the vicinity of Blk 232, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1.

The officers moved in to conduct a check and arrested him. The other three suspects were subsequently picked up within the next two hours.
