SINGAPORE : The four-day COMEX IT and Consumer Technology fair ended on Sunday.

It attracted some 815,000 visitors and chalked up S$68.5 million in sales.

A battle for customers emerged among Internet Service Providers, following the launch of the Next Generation National Broadband Network.

Freebies such as laptops were offered to customers who signed up for a new broadband plan.

The three telcos also offered various packages that came bundled with cable television or mobile phone lines.

But it was still a matter of price for consumers.

One consumer said: "We came two days just to compare the prices."

Another added: "It is still about the price. At the end of the day, we want to save costs when we come to this type of show." - CNA/ms
