SINGAPORE: More than 40 Electronic Payment System (EPS) car parks have been upgraded to accept CEPAS-compliant cards for payment.

Among them are the car parks at Changi Airport.

These EPS car parks use the in-vehicle unit (IU) for payment of parking charges.

The Land Transport Authority said that another 179 car parks will be able to accept CEPAS-compliant cards for payment by mid-2011.

By then, LTA said 75 per cent of the EPS car parks would be able to accept CEPAS cards for parking payments.

EPS car parks that are upgraded can accept any CEPAS cards including the CEPAS-compliant ez-link card and CEPAS-compliant NETS FlashPay card, on top of the existing NETS CashCard for parking payments when used with the dual-mode IU.

This provides motorists with more card choices for their parking payments. - CNA/fa
