SINGAPORE: A one-day carnival and bazaar will be held at the National Library Plaza in conjunction with World First Aid Day on Saturday.
The event, jointly organised by the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) and the National First Aid Council, will include talks by local doctors and live first aid demonstrations by SRC trainers. Members of public can also learn tips on home safety and child first aid.
Titled "First aid for a safer future", the focus of the is to make first-aid training and education available for all.
More than seven million people are trained worldwide in first aid in more than 50 countries.
This is a 20 per cent increase from 2006, according to a survey conducted by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
The IFRC will issue an updated advocacy report as part of the World First Aid Day.
