MediaCorp wins 19 awards at PromaxBDA World Gold Awards

SINGAPORE: Asia's leading broadcaster MediaCorp swept a haul of 21 awards at the PromaxBDA World Gold Awards 2011, the Magnum Opus Awards and the APEX Awards for Publication Excellence.

The international awards honour the best in promotion and marketing, as well as the best design work released worldwide. They are given for their promotional efforts across an integrated platform which included the use of social media and interactive marketing.

MediaCorp's Customised Publishing division received two honours.

At the Magnum Opus Awards, Contact South East, a title published for the Southeast Community Development Council (CDC) won Bronze for Best Public Service Series or Article Print/Newsletter, and Xtra-hyper, a title published for Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) was given Honourable Mention for Best All Around School/University Publication.

The Magnum Opus Awards is the leading custom media awards recognising excellence in editorial, design and strategy for organisations using print and online publications as well as social media in their content marketing efforts.

At the APEX Awards for Publication Excellence, HIGHWAY, a title published for the Automobile Association of Singapore (AAS), was awarded the Most Improved Magazines & Journals.

The other 19 awards were won at the 2011 PromaxBDA World Gold Awards held in New York City on June 30.

A "Walking with Dinosaurs Junket Interstitial" clinched gold for MediaCorp Channel 5 in the Interstitial/"Promo-tainment"/Movie Wraps Campaign category. Channel 5 also won gold for "Anything Goes" in the Comedy Programme Promotion Campaign Using Integrated Media category.

All in all, Channel 5 won a total of 5 awards.

MediaCorp Channel U swept a total of 7 awards - its biggest-ever haul at the event. It includes a gold for "Stars for a Cause" in the Non-fiction/Reality Programme Campaign Using Integrated Media category.

The channel also got gold for "Ch U 'Fann With U' T-Shirt & Recycled Bag" in the Promotional Items Campaign category and for "The Illusionist Campaign" in the Topical Publication Advertising Campaign in Color category.

MediaCorp Channel 8 clinched three awards, including two golds. The gold awards were for "The Little Nyonya" in the Daytime Programme Spot category and "The Family Court" in the Dramatic Programme Campaign Using Integrated Media category.
