SINGAPORE: An illegal station selling diesel at a discounted rate has been discovered at Tampines Avenue 10.

Channel NewsAsia chanced upon the illegal station after it received a call from a hotline caller who complained of a wild boar lurking in the area.

When the reporter arrived at the location, a wild boar was found resting below one of the diesel truck.

About half an hour later, six lorries were spotted heading towards the station to tank up on diesel. More vehicles made their way to the station as the hours passed.

The price of one litre of diesel at the station is about 30 cents lower than the market rate. This means that every time a vehicle is filled up, the motorist could save some S$10.

The operator of the station, who did not want to be identified, told Channel NewsAsia that the station is illegal, and it usually services lorries from nearby industrial areas and delivery vans.

He said: "We are doing business here and have nowhere else to move. If you come here and film, we'll be in trouble."

HDB said it did not permit the operator to use the site and to sell diesel there.
