SINGAPORE: The lawyer representing a woman embroiled in a dispute concerning a jackpot win has sent a letter to Marina Bay Sands (MBS).
The lawyer said the letter claims that the casino at MBS has not paid 58-year-old Choo Hong Eng her jackpot win of some S$416,000.
She was told that the slot machine had a glitch and that she had instead won S$50,000 and a sports car worth nearly S$260,000 which she could sell back to the casino for cash.
The lawyer sent the letter on Monday, asking the casino to pay the amount Madam Choo claimed she had won.
The letter also asked MBS to respond by Tuesday midnight.
Since then, Madam Choo and her lawyer have not received any response.
They are awaiting the Casino Regulatory Authority's report, due to be out next month, which will indicate if Madam Choo will be paid.
If not, her lawyer said Madam Choo, a vegetarian food stall owner, plans to sue MBS.
