SINGAPORE : Singapore's Pollutant Standards Index or PSI has fallen into the moderate range for the first time this year.
Air quality has taken a dip amidst soaring temperatures and the recent spate of bush fires in Singapore.
The dry spell has led to a record high of some 400 bush fires since the beginning of the year.
And these have taken a toll on Singapore's air quality - the PSI, which measures the amount of pollution in the air, was at 51 - it's in the moderate range for the first time this year.
"I stay on the 23rd floor and I can smell it, I don't know if it's from Singapore or Indonesia, my colleagues all are having sore throat and flu, I think it's due to the haze."
"We smell something burning in the air.....a couple of my kids just got better from the sinus or flu."
"Usually I bring them out for a walk but now I don't because of the heat and the smell, it's not very good for children."
"The air quality is bad and it's not good for the children."
"I have been getting headaches and having difficulties breathing."
"It's a bit irritating when you get the smoke and smell in the air but so far its okay, drink more water."
Many people have also called for more to be done to stop the bush fires which may in turn, help to keep PSI levels down. - CNA
