The MediaCorp Radio Subaru Challenge has its winners.

The pair left standing after 64 hours and 31 minutes were 36-year-old Koh Meng Khoon and his 23-year-old girlfriend Lung Wen Jie.

Mr Koh, a business consultant, and Ms Lung, an associate at Pricewaterhouse, took home two Subaru Imprezas.

The pair were declared the winners at 5:31am on Tuesday.

On Monday night, a very lucid Lung told Channel NewsAsia that she was inspired to go on by looking across at her boyfriend of eight months.

The two contestants closest to the winning team were 24-year-old Koh Peng Kuun and 28-year-old Zac Ng Wei Tze.

Both men are triathletes.

Ng was disqualified because his palm went out of position, and his team dropped out just one minute before the winners.

On Saturday, 440 contestants paired up in the contest to see who could keep their palms on a car longest.

In its 4th year, the contest at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza was tweaked to make it a team challenge and the last pair standing get not one but two brand new cars. - CNA/ir
