SINGAPORE: Fans can buy tickets to the highly anticipated ASEAN Football Championship second-leg final between Singapore and Thailand on Friday.

The game will be played in Bangkok on Sunday.

The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) says 2,000 grandstand tickets will go on sale from 1pm to 7pm at its office at Jalan Besar Stadium on Friday.

These tickets are priced at S$14 each and only cash payments will be accepted.

There is no limit on the number of tickets one can buy.

The Lions hold a 2-1 lead from the first-leg played in Singapore on Wednesday night.

Controversy surrounded the match as the Thais were furious with the referee's decision to award the penalty that gave Singapore the win.

That also raised fears that Singapore players and fans will get a hostile reception on the return leg in Thailand.

However, fans here will still head to Bangkok to cheer the Lions on.

One of them, Akbar Hashim, is bringing a group of 30 up to Thailand for the match.

The veteran supporter says he has seen worse, like the match between Indonesia and Singapore in Senayan Stadium in Jakarta at the last Tiger Cup.

The FAS has also raised the issue of security at the match with its Thai counterpart.

The Association says the Thais have assured that additional measures will be put in place to ensure the safety of the Singapore team and its fans.

The Singapore team leaves on Friday morning for Bangkok on SQ62 at 10.40am, and they are scheduled to return on Monday on SQ63 at 2.40pm. - CNA/so
