SINGAPORE: Graduating students from Raffles Junior College have bagged the top places for the Angus Ross Prize for Literature for the second year running.

Liew Shang Zhao topped the honour roll, taking home nearly S$300 (100 pounds sterling) in prize money.

Tan Ying Xiang was the first runner-up while Hwa Yue-Yi was named the second runner-up.

RJC's good performance was last repeated by its 2005 graduating cohort.

The Angus Ross Prize is awarded to the best performer in the November GCE A-level English examinations by a non-UK candidate.

Singaporeans have won the prize since it first started in 1987, except in 1999.
