SINGAPORE: A 14-year-old girl has skipped her way into the record books by managing 157 skips in just 30 seconds.
That is five more skips than the current record held by Japan's Megumi Suzuki.
Rachael Baby Yue's achievement will now be sent to the Guinness World Record to make it official.
The record-breaker said she has been training hard for this attempt.
"I feel really relieved because I was afraid that I wouldn't break the record. And I'm very happy and glad because my training paid off," she said.
Rachael has been skipping for about four years now, and her feat was part of an event called "Break the Record@HealthZone".
The event was organised by the Health Promotion Board, which also awarded prizes to other winners for their record-breaking attempts in physical activities.
Mr Lam Pin Woon, CEO, Health Promotion Board, said: "We'd like to encourage the young to exercise more regularly so we have to make this concept of healthy living more interesting and fun. Hence we came up with this concept of breaking records."
