SINGAPORE: Singapore will play host to the first Singapore Desalination and Water Reuse Leadership Summit next week.

Minister for Environment and Water Resources, Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, will open the two-day summit.

Over 100 global leaders and key decision makers are expected to attend the summit from 11-12 April.

Among them will be India's Minister for Water Resources, United Arab Emirates' Minister for Environment and Water as well as Minister for Natural Resources and Water from Australia's Queensland state.

The summit aims to promote awareness of global water issues.

In addition, the 4th IWA Leading Edge Conference and Exhibition on Water and Wastewater Technologies will be held here in June.

The conference will allow water experts and researchers worldwide to interact and to identify potential uses of water treatment technologies. - CNA/ir
