SINGAPORE: Singapore media companies have signed S$193 million (US$128 million) worth of deals at the world's largest TV trade show, MIPTV.
The co-production and distribution project deals were signed in Cannes and were double the amount clinched at a similar show last year.
Animation led the charge.
A collaboration between Singapore Technologies Electronics and Canada's Nelvana Studios will produce three animated TV series and ten DVD movies over the next four years.
The deal is worth about S$150 million (US$100 million).
And there is also the first-ever Singapore-France TV series called "Deja Vu".
The S$6.2 million (US$4.1 million) youth fiction series will feature four episodes shot on location in Singapore.
