SINGAPORE: A new centre has opened for senior citizens to engage in activities to avoid isolation.

At the new Lions Befrienders Neighbourhood Link at Block 32, Bendemeer Road, senior citizens can take up enrichment classes and socialise.

The centre also serves as a hub for inter-generational bonding amongst residents.

It is also a one-stop centre for information on social services.

The centre was opened by the Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts, Dr Lee Boon Yang.

The Lions Befrienders is a voluntary welfare organisation with 1,000 registered volunteers helping almost 4,000 senior citizens. - CNA/ir
