SINGAPORE: A five month anti-dengue programme has kicked off in three of North West district's 14 divisions.

It involves more than 91,000 households fighting the disease together, with the help of some 2000 volunteers.

Environment and Water Resources Minister Yaacob Ibrahim officiated at the launch on Saturday.

The programme coincides with the North West CDC's month-long green festival.

The focus is on three specific areas of concern - energy conservation, public health, and nature appreciation.

Apart from skits and workshops at the Bukit Panjang Plaza roadshow this weekend, residents can tour exhibits to learn about energy saving tips and green cars. - CNA/yy
