SINGAPORE : Every dog has its day and for some 2,000 pooches, this year's National Dog Walk might just be one of the most exciting.

Many came specially dressed to celebrate National Day.

The organiser says the turnout was better than expected and this year's event is the largest since it was introduced in 2005.

It also saw the most number of sponsors, including a movie screening treat.

Fun aside, half of the registration proceeds will be donated to Noah's Ark Cares, an animal shelter in Johor.

Dog owners say the event gives them a chance to exchange tips with other pet owners, and allow their pets to socialise. - CNA/de
