SINGAPORE : The Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, will attend the first Ministerial Meeting on Collaboration on Water Management in Beijing on Tuesday.

Dr Yaacob will meet the Chinese Minister of Construction, Wang Guangtao.

This meeting is a follow-up to an agreement signed during the 4th Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation in Singapore in July this year.

The MOU was inked by Singapore's Environment and Water Resources Ministry (MEWR) and China's Construction Ministry.

The two ministries have agreed to cooperate on improving the urban environment and water resources.

While in Beijing, Dr Yaacob will attend the 6th Ministers' Forum on Infrastructure Development in the Asia-Pacific Region on Wednesday.

He will be accompanied by officials from MEWR, PUB and IE Singapore. - CNA/ms
