SINGAPORE: Christmas is more than two months away, but some schools are already making plans to spread the festive joy with the help of Barbie dolls.

Students from Nanyang kindergarten, primary and secondary schools aim to collect 3,000 Barbie dolls over the next month to donate them to needy children in China.

The dolls will go to orphans and children who have been left behind in the villages while their parents find jobs in the city.

MediaCorp actress Huang Biren also chipped in to help by donating a doll.

The donation drive will end on 18 November.

Members of the public who wish to donate a Barbie doll can call 6560-5455 for more information.
