SINGAPORE : From two boats in the year 2000 to about 20 by year's end, Changi Sailing Club has created a splash for disabled sailors with its Sailability Changi programme.

Now it's looking to build on its strengths. Mrs SR Nathan helped to launch an extension of the programme which would include the able-bodied, beginners, the very young as well as the elderly.

With support from the Singapore Disability Sports Council, the programme has grown rapidly and currently boasts nine boats.

In conjunction with the launch, Mrs Nathan also launched an artwork. Part of the proceeds from the sale will go towards the programme. - CNA /ls
