SINGAPORE: The Vietnamese defence minister met Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana on Tuesday.

General Phung Quang Thanh, who arrived on Sunday, is in Singapore for a three-day introductory visit.

The general has also called on Defence Minister Teo Chee Hean on Monday.

MINDEF said the minister's visit highlights the warm and friendly bilateral relations between Singapore and Vietnam.

It also underscores the growing defence relationship between the two countries.
