SINGAPORE: UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon agreed with Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong that it would be beneficial for Dr Ibrahim Gambari to brief leaders at the East Asia Summit (EAS) in Singapore, on his visit to Myanmar.

Singapore's Foreign Ministry said Prime Minister Lee had a telephone conversation with the UN Chief on Thursday, November 15, and they had a general discussion on recent developments in Myanmar.

Mr Lee informed Mr Ban that Singapore had invited UN Special Envoy Dr Gambari to brief the leaders at the EAS, which will be held on November 21.

Mr Ban expressed appreciation to Mr Lee for inviting Dr Gambari.
