SINGAPORE: Spinach bits blended perfectly into Mickey-shaped pizza dough, which is baked a crispy brown and served heads-up with luscious pizza toppings.

At the first ever Disney-themed eatery outside of Disneyland, a fun way has been found to coax children to eat their greens.

Located in Singapore's Anchorpoint shopping centre, the around 1,400 sq ft Disney Naturally opened on Tuesday. The eatery aims to bank on the popular Disney brand to teach kids the fun of healthy eating in a family orientated environment.

"Disney has the magic and the loyalty among parents and kids to take the brand into education. With Disney's help, we hope to educate kids to eat more health food," said Martin Darby, the Retail Senior Vice-President of the Global Brands Group.

The group has secured rights to open Disney Naturally eateries worldwide, and has decided to use Singapore as a starting ground because according to the group, the city-state is well-known for its good food.

Apart from spinach hidden in the pizzas, the eatery has a whole menu of healthy foods to offer – fruit blends, soups and stew – made cool to kids by colourful dietary advice from famous Disney characters like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Pluto.

Disney cartoons will play all day on a giant screen while older kids can flock to two available computer terminals for Disney-themed computer games.

And as for adults eager to have a Disney experience, the eatery has said that it "more than welcome" adults to relive their childhood.
