SINGAPORE: A tip-off from the public led to the arrest of a drunk driver early Friday.

Mr Chia Hong Boon was driving along the Central Expressway towards Tampines Expressway at about 5am when he noticed a driver driving in an unsteady manner.

The 27-year-old then followed the car from a distance and called the police for assistance.

Mr Chia alerted the police again when the other driver drove into an open carpark at Blk 231, Ang Mo Kio St 22.

While waiting for the police to arrive, Mr Chia kept watch.

The 41-year-old drunk driver was arrested after he failed a breathalyser test. - CNA/ir
