SINGAPORE : A new entity has been named with a mission of clinical service, education and research.

The National University Health System (NUHS) unifies the governance of National University Hospital, the National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and the NUS Faculty of Dentistry.

The unification was announced in October last year.

The National Healthcare Group and NUS formed the joint venture.

A Board has been appointed for three years to guide the strategic direction of the NUHS.

Among other objectives, the Board has the autonomy to decide how best it should achieve its mission and strive for financial sustainability. - CNA/de
