SINGAPORE : The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) has launched a talent-spotting programme for pre-teens in the hope of finding footballers to represent Singapore at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games.

While the football competitions are for teens under the age of 15, the search is now on to shortlist candidates under the age of 13 in time for the 2010 event.

Open trials for girls will be held on March 12-14 at a field near Kovan Community Centre between 9am and 10.30am.

Trials for the boys will be held on March 24, 26 and 27 between 3pm and 5 pm at Jalan Besar Stadium.

There will also be a trial for boys at the same place on March 29 at 9am.

Up to 100 boys and 100 girls will be shortlisted to form the initial training squads. - CNA/de
