SINGAPORE: Organisers of Love Charity Dinner 2008 said they hope an auction of 15 items would be enough to raise S$150,000.

Among the items that went under the hammer was a 1927 Swift Vintage car valued at about half-a-million dollars and a classic 1972 Mercedes convertible.

Besides cars, there were also paintings by Singapore celebrities and artists, and a First Day Cover autographed by President S R Nathan.

The funds raised will benefit three charities – Sree Narayana Mission Home for the Aged Sick, Kampong Senang and Yong-En Care Centre.
