Reality show "The Showdown" stages mini battle at Orchard Road

SINGAPORE : MediaCorp TV's Channel 5 is launching a brand new reality show "The Showdown" on May 8. A mini "showdown" was staged at Orchard Road on Saturday, as part of a promotional blitz for the show.

Paul Twohill from "Singapore Idol" fame and Victor Tang, a finalist from "Live the Dream" gave the public a glimpse of what to expect from the new reality show.

They created buzz for the show by battling each other along the stretch between Wisma Atria and Orchard Cineleisure, with "The Showdown" game master, Suhaimi Yusof, egging them on. Passers-by were also invited to join in the fun.

The 13-part game show will feature two teams of four celebrities battling it out in an hour of outrageous games. It will air every Thursday at 8pm on Channel 5. - CNA /ls
