SINGAPORE: Monday will see the re-opening of some kindergartens and childcare centres which had closed for ten days during the hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) outbreak.

Learning Vision @ Work at KK Women's and Children's Hospital is one of them.

Daily cleaning and disinfecting were done during the centre's closure by professionals engaged to sanitise the centre, which caters to 130 students.

To ensure the students did not miss out on schoolwork, a home-based activity pack was given to the children. There were two types of activity packs - one for those aged 18 months to three years, and the other for those aged four to six.

As an added precaution, when the centre re-opens parents will not be allowed into it.

Health checks will also be done outside the centre, and parents will be reminded to enforce hygiene standards at home. - CNA/ac
