SM Goh makes four-day official visit to Libya

SINGAPORE : Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong will be making a four-day official visit to Libya from May 5-8, at the invitation of the Libyan government.

Mr Goh will be the most senior Singapore leader to visit Libya. This is his first visit to Libya and will complete his recent series of visits to the Maghreb countries, namely Algeria, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia.

The Prime Minister's Office said the visit will further strengthen Singapore's political and economic relations with Libya.

During the visit, Mr Goh is scheduled to meet key Libyan leaders and officials. He will also witness the signing of MOUs between Singapore and Libyan companies.

Mr Goh will be accompanied by Mrs Goh, National Development Minister Mah Bow Tan, Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Zainul Abidin Rasheed, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry S Iswaran, senior government officials and a business delegation. - CNA /ls
