SINGAPORE : The Dutch community here may be small, but a club for expatriates from Holland has existed in Singapore for 100 years.
And today, the Hollandse Club's membership also includes those from Australia and Britain. Some Singaporeans are also members of this social club.
To commemorate its 100th anniversary, the club invited the Community Development, Youth and Sports Minister, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, to unveil the Centennial Column on Monday.
Hollandse Club also opened an exhibition, which includes photos of its rich history.
The club will hold various events throughout this month and festivities will culminate with the launch of a 100-year jubilee publication at the end of this year. - CNA/ms
