SINGAPORE: The Commander-in-Chief of the Indonesian National Defence Forces is on a three-day introductory visit to Singapore.

As part of his visit from 5 to 7 May, General Djoko Santoso has met Defence Minister Teo Chee Hean and Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Desmond Kuek.

Lt-Gen Kuek and Gen Santoso will be co-chairing the 11th Combined Annual Report Meeting between the two countries' armed forces on Tuesday afternoon.

General Santoso also called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana on Tuesday morning.

The Ministry of Defence said the visit underscores the longstanding defence ties between Singapore and Indonesia, which span over 40 years. - CNA/ac
