SINGAPORE: More Asian-generated high-definition or HD content is on the cards for HD TV subscribers around the world.

Singapore's Media Development Authority, Southeast Asia's largest independent high-definition TV producer Mega Media, and the world's largest operator of HD channels VOOM HD Networks, have renewed two television productions under a collaborative pact.

The two series were first created under a US$20m international co-production deal which began in 2005.

"Spa Seekers" follows the travels of two sisters as they visit some of Asia's finest resorts, and "Appetising Adventures with Luke Mangan" is about an Australian chef on a culinary journey throughout Asia.

According to a statement issued by the three production partners, both shows will be broadcast on VOOM HD Networks' two high-definition channels targeted at the United States and international viewers respectively.

Other HD television productions that have come about as a result of this collaboration include the action sports series "BMX P.I.G" and "Metro BMX Jam: Singapore", "Style Me with Rachel Hunter", travel series "Ultra Eye Tokyo" and "Ultra Eye Singapore", and several sports documentaries on power boats and cliff diving. - CNA/ir
