SINGAPORE: TRUE Fitness at the OUB Centre is set to close, and its members are not happy.

TRUE has some 3,000 members. Many were unhappy when they learned that the gym centre will close on 15 May, saying they were not given enough notice.

The centre said the lease was not extended and that this was only confirmed on 4 April. As such, it was hard to relocate to a new site of the same size.

To minimise inconvenience, the centre has provided alternative places for members to continue with their exercises.

35-year-old Cassandra Wong, who took up a three-year membership in 2006, was disappointed with the turn of events.

"The company said we can use the other centres at Orchard and Raffles. Everyone is angry because we can only do yoga there and not workout (on gym equipment)," she said. - CNA/ir
