Foreign scout leaders among 102 recipients of Good Service Award

SINGAPORE : Four foreign scout leaders and a Justice of Peace were among 102 recipients who were honoured on Thursday.

They received the Singapore Scout Association's Good Service Award at the Istana from President SR Nathan, who is also the Chief Scout.

This year, Justice of Peace Noel Hon, who is President of the Scout Association, received the "Gold Lion Award". He has been recognised for strengthening the bond among adult scout leaders.

Other recipients include the national scout leaders of Brunei, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand. They are the Honourable Jejomar C. Binay from the Philippines, Mr Boonrat Wongyai from Thailand, Pehin Dato Hai Awang Mohd Ali from Brunei, and Dr Azul Azwar from Indonesia.

Also honoured was Mrs Teo Poh Yim, wife of Defence Minister Teo Chee Hean, who was presented with the Good Service award. - CNA /ls
