SINGAPORE : A total of 99 officers have been appointed as Honorary Aides-De-Camp (ADC) to the president.
They received their appointment at an annual ceremony at the Istana on May 13.
The officers are from the Singapore Armed Forces, the Singapore Police Force and the Singapore Civil Defence Force. Twenty-three of them are newly-appointed ADCs.
The Honorary ADCs are the personal representatives of the president. They assist in presidential and state functions to ensure that the dignitaries and guests are well attended to.
They are also assigned to receive and send off heads-of-states, and to accompany them during their official visits to Singapore. - CNA/ls
