SINGAPORE : Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang - who is in Singapore on his first official visit - was briefed on the Republic's efforts to establish itself as a medical hub on Saturday.

He was also updated on Singapore's F1 night race and integrated resorts.

At his request, Mr Tsang also toured the Bedok NEWater Visitor Centre to learn more about Singapore's water recycling efforts.

Mr Tsang also learnt more about Singapore's population policies and the retention of talent in the civil service, when he had lunch with Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.

Mr Tsang updated Mr Goh on economic and political developments in Hong Kong and the challenges it faces.

The leaders also exchanged views on recent developments in East Asia, and they agreed that Singapore and Hong Kong could learn from each other's experiences. - CNA/ms
