Art lovers raise S$80,000 for Sichuan earthquake victims

SINGAPORE : Art lovers have been donating some pieces to an auction organised by MediaCorp Raintree Pictures actor, Qi Yu Wu, to raise money for Sichuan earthquake victims.

The actor donated a painting he had bought for S$5,000.

But at the event, it went under the hammer for S$8,000.

Art lovers bought a total of 14 pieces at the auction, which fetched a total of S$80,000, far exceeding the original target of S$50,000. - CNA/ms
