Hungarian President Solyom will be in S'pore for 2-day state visit

SINGAPORE: Hungary's President, Dr Laszlo Solyom, will be in Singapore for two days from May 22 after visiting Vietnam and Indonesia. This is the first visit by a Hungarian president to Singapore.

During his visit, President Solyom will call on President SR Nathan and meet Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.

President Solyom will also attend a state banquet hosted by President Nathan in his honour.

While here, the Hungarian president will also visit the Biopolis and give a lecture entitled ‘Governing for sustainability - A Hungarian perspective on climate change, environment and responsibility for future generations’ at the Singapore Management University.

President Solyom will be accompanied by senior officials from the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. - CNA/vm
