Hungarian President in Singapore for first official state visit

SINGAPORE: Hungarian President, Laszlo Solyom, is in Singapore for a two-day state visit.

This is the first ever visit by a Hungarian President to Singapore.

President Solyom called on President S R Nathan at the Istana on Thursday afternoon.

He also met Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.

President Solyom will also be honoured at a State Banquet hosted by President S R Nathan on Thursday evening.

While in Singapore, President Solyom will visit the Biopolis and give a lecture on climate change at the Singapore Management University.
