SINGAPORE: The Singapore Soka Association (SSA) has donated more than S$195,000 to Mercy Relief, in support of relief efforts in disaster-hit Myanmar and Sichuan.

The donations were collected from members over two weeks.

Two cheques were presented on Sunday morning to Mercy Relief Chairman T K Udairam at a special prayer meeting attended by more than 1,300 Soka members.

To date, Mercy Relief has raised more than a million dollars for both disasters. The organisation has also sent relief teams to both China and Myanmar.
