SINGAPORE: Shoppers at a MediaCorp charity bazaar on Orchard Road have raised S$11,400 for the victims of the Sichuan earthquake and Myanmar cyclone.

They snapped up many of the 200 items donated by MediaCorp celebrities at a roadshow held by 8 DAYS and I-Weekly magazines over the weekend.

Among these items were Felicia Chin's Corum watch, which was sold for S$4,500, and Christopher Lee's Ball watch, which went for S$1,500. About 50 items that have not been sold will be put on sale online.

All proceeds will be channelled to the Mercy Relief Fund for the charity's relief work in Sichuan and Myanmar.

The fundraising event is part of MediaCorp's drive to help the survivors of the two natural disasters.
