SINGAPORE : A man was killed on Saturday when the car he was in crashed into a tree.

The vehicle was entering the East Coast Expressway from the Pan-Island Expressway slip road at about 2.20pm, when it veered off the road and rammed into a nearby tree.

The driver and the front seat passenger, both women in their mid-20s, suffered slight injuries and were sent to Changi General Hospital.

But the man, who was sitting at the back, was badly injured and died in hospital at 3.34pm.

Police are appealing for witnesses to call its hotline at 1800-547-1818. - CNA/ms
