SINGAPORE: Participants at this year's Singapore Armed Forces Reservist Association (SAFRA) Singapore Bay Run and Army Half Marathon can look forward to a new scenic experience.

On August 24, participants of the 21-kilometre route will be the first to run across the 350-metre wide Marina Barrage.

Now into its 17th year, the run will start at Esplanade Drive, continue through the central business district, and finish with a carnival at the Padang.

Competitive runners can opt for the 21-kilometre or 10-kilometre routes, while non-competitive runners can sign up for the 10- or six-kilometre fun runs.

Organisers have also instituted more comprehensive medical arrangements, including regular medic posts and roving medical teams throughout the route.

Registration can be done online at
www.safra.sg/sbr or at SAFRA clubs.

Normal registration closes on June 30, while final registration closes on July 31. - CNA/ac
