Smart cabs to implement 30-cent fuel surcharge from August 1

ComfortDelGro taxis to impose 30-cent surcharge from July 17

SINGAPORE : Come August 1, passengers taking Smart cabs will have to pay a 30-cent fuel surcharge.

The move by Smart Automobile comes in the wake of a similar announcement by ComfortDelGro last week.

The diesel surcharge for ComfortDelGro's Comfort and CityCab taxis starts on Thursday.

Another taxi operator, SMRT Corporation, has said it will look at "various options, including the possibility of a fuel surcharge". - CNA/ms
