FMs from North and South Korea to visit Singapore from July 21-25

SINGAPORE : North Korea's Foreign Minister Pak Ui Chun and South Korea's Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Yu Myung-hwan will make an official visit to Singapore from July 21-25 at the invitation of Singapore's Foreign Minister George Yeo.

This will be their first official visits to the city-state in their capacity as foreign ministers.

Foreign Minister Pak will also be attending the 15th ASEAN Regional Forum on July 24.

Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Foreign Minister Pak will call on President SR Nathan, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.

Mr Pak will have a bilateral meeting and an official dinner hosted by Foreign Minister Yeo. He is also expected to be hosted to an official lunch by Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry S Iswaran.

The delegation will meet officials from Singapore's economic ministries and visit the Singapore Management University.

Meanwhile, South Korean Minister Yu will also attend the ASEAN Plus Three Foreign Ministers' Meeting, East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers' Informal Consultations, the ASEAN-ROK Post Ministerial Conference and the 15th ASEAN Regional Forum.

Mr Yu will also have a bilateral meeting and an official dinner hosted by Foreign Minister Yeo. - CNA /ls
