SINGAPORE: Defence Minister Teo Chee Hean, who's on a five-day visit to New Zealand met up with his New Zealand counterpart Phil Goff on Wednesday.

Both leaders exchanged views on regional developments, the regional security architecture, and Singapore and New Zealand's co-operation in Afghanistan.

Mr Teo also met New Zealand's Foreign Minister Winston Peters.

On Tuesday, Mr Teo had gone to the Royal New Zealand Naval Base, where he was given a traditional Maori welcome by the country's Navy Chief, Rear-Admiral David Ledson.

MINDEF said Mr Teo's visit underscores the long-standing bilateral defence ties, bolstered by regular exercises and professional exchanges. - CNA/vm
