SINGAPORE: A 29-year-old woman has been fined S$650 for taking part in an assembly with several others without a permit.

Harkirat Kaur, 29, a freelance editorial worker, was the first in the group to admit to the gathering near Raffles City Shopping Centre, North Bridge Road, on 10 September 2006.

She was charged along with Chee Soon Juan, the Secretary-General of the Singapore Democratic Party, and his sister Chee Siok Chin, amongst others in court on August 21 this year with unlawful assembly and procession.
