Singapore takes part in Beijing Paralympics 2008

SINGAPORE: The 2008 Paralympic Games have just kicked off in Beijing and Singapore hopes for another medal or better in the international sports arena.

Singapore's flag is carried by Theresa Goh, who is a world record holder in breaststroke.

Another medal potential is fellow world record swimmer, backstroke specialist, Yip Pin Xiu.

Besides swimming, Singapore athletes will compete in sailing, equestrian and athletics.

The Paralympic Games are on till September 17. - CNA/vm
